Description

First Edition (version 1.0) published online on 16 January 2009

This file is a seed to analyze the needed number of Chinese lexemes for basic understanding of Chinese newspaper articles. Any person with prior knowledge of Japanese kanji and/or Korean hanja shall feel friendly and effectively learning the semantics of Chinese language using the method proposed here by first learning the most popular Chinese characters.

For first instance, knowing a first sentence composed from 11 most frequently used Chinese characters amounts to 16% of Chinese characters in an online article. For second instance, in additional to the first sentence, knowing a second sentence composed from 17 most frequently used Chinese characters accumulatively amounts to 25% of Chinese characters in an online article.

Further steps can proceed to other contexts like journalist columns, letter composition, essay writing, etc. There exists also applicability to other languages in general & specific contexts.
